King Of Malad--POP Tates

Well Here Comes one more installment from the guys of Slice of Lime and Party Frenzy and Jughead...la..la....lala....POPTATES...So much for the introduction...

Food may not be the only criterion for judging how the restaurant survives but POPTATES has proved its worth since it boasts of a rich INTERCONTINENTAL CUISINE ranging from the usual Pizzas , Pastas and Sizzlers to a range of new dishes unknown (atleast to me!!).. The newly connoted titles may need bit of description for which you can call one of the waiters and bore him til he gives u the ingredients down to the very last detail.. ok!! tat was a bit exagerrated but the waiters know wat goes into the food which could help most ’adventurous’ ppl to venture to unknown foodland by trying a couple of new dishes as the experience-drive..just for the records, this restaurant specialises in INTERCONTINENTAL food so please dont make a fool outta yourself by trying to order punjabi and ruining your both the tastes- your tongues’ and and the restaurant’s impression in your head. So the approx billing per head should be
for starters- Rs 80 to Rs 300( if you wanna make the starter your meal)
for main-course- Rs 170 onwards

The staff are amicable but may be a bit sluggish n slow especially during peak hours.. talk about a weekend and you will have to be more active than the staff around to put forth your menu and see to it that it reaches on time but if you looking for a place to just chill out with your ’special’ one and time aint on your mind, poptates is a must try.. Wat i suggest is that you could place your order, go-watch a movie n return to find both - a nice place to chill out and eat.. all in the same evening..Belive me it works..

The booze is priced at Rs 40 onwards
A range of cocktails with a few new names to learn start Rs 30 onwards

Malad’s Life - Slice of Lime

Malad has grown from a young kid to whole new hustling-bustling man. The Once Famous-Dumping-Grounds of Malad are now packed with corporate houses BPO’s, KPO’s, and IT. And with this transformation, even the Pub culture has risen to new heights.

I dedicate the month to Malad and its famous eateries as I travel to and fro. Well Slice of Lime started like 2 years ago, after PopTates had really taken an edge over other clubs in Mumbai. Their Primary target-College Kids, Call Center Employees. And yes they have made a mark for themselves in this arena, targeting the audience.

Slice of Lime, comes from the same management. So when it opened the expectations were high. And truly after 2 years visitors declared that they have lived up to it.

Well enough with the Story…lets look how it really from inside is.

It’s a cozy, small underground basement, below PopTates The seats are cozy and the ambiance is filled with great music.(should tell ya …its got great System,,,for such a small place).Well the Menu caters Majors to Non-Vegetarians (so Veggies ain’t got much to select from).

Fish and Chips were sexy and hot and African Chicken was hot and spicy.

But it’s the Drinks that really make an evening delightful.

You get served regular Beer. And for Rs.350 you can order a Pitcher. Shots look a bit overpriced tough. Shots come for a price range of Rs.150-300.Shambuka –the most popular Fire shot; leaves a Mint Flavor in the end. Jack Daniels is available for Rs.350 a Shot.

Final Verdict: SOL is one place to cherish as it leaves a spellbound impression on you. One for its High Intensity Music.(You Will have R.Kelly, Pink Floyd, Sonu Nigam played back to back).Second is the drinks and the environment it creates(Don’t think of a dance bar, But yes it’s a kind of place were people will stand up and dance on their chairs , as the clock ticks ONE.

Overall Rating: 7.5/10.

Parking: Yes (Might be cumbersome at times).

Happy Hours: 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.

Meal for Two: 1250(Drinks included)

Behind Movietime Cinema,

New Link Road,

Malad (W)

Cheers,Chicken-Wings and IPL--Spots Bar,Andheri

Certainly there won't be any cheerleaders when Mumbai plays Hyderabad in their encounter this Sunday, but no ones stopping you to say cheers and cheer your team from playing and winning the match. And coincidentally the place where you might do so...might as well be the All Sports Bar in Andheri.
Amidst big multiplexes (Fun Republic,Fame Adlabs) strives the Bar.This English Pub seems to be more of a Hall, which caters to a big audience.Large Screen,Awesome Menu and Fun-Zones are catchy(They Even Got a Set of Books Inside).Well, Frankly its the over-expensive drinks that don't catch upon the regularities.Eatery on the Other Hand are something to cherish upon, surprisingly(As more pubs, pay no heed on Food). The Ambiance is Nothing Great.(Personally Don't know whether it was the DJ or the Sound Systems that were not hall friendly).
If its a Family outing you are looking for ..I wouldn't recommend it..But Yes For all Corporates,Students who might enjoy a Group-Night-Out or the Match.
Parking shouldn't be a problem, as the entrance is cut-out from the Main Road.
Final Verdict Being,Visit it Once for experience,Secondly for value and then judge for yourself.
Being One of its kind, certainly deserves a applause and check.

Meal For Two:: 1500/- (Drinks included)

My First Post---Silver Coin... I.C.Colony

Well ..This is my First Post..and i have decided to start with the place where i have grown up.This blog is for users who have profound taste bud and are on the ride to find new edibles in Mumbai... Of course, we are famous for our Road-Side Khana, but its the peculiar uniqueness in each locality ..(even with the same food ) that u will find intriguing. So i Give you My First Restro

Silver Coin

has been here for the past 15 years or more but still calls for a great amount of change in its management..ever so...Well to Start with .. Situated in the heart of Borivali lies a regular,not-so-young restrau 'Silver Coin'. The restaurant's Mughlai is the only commendable part of the Menu.'Gosh Kebab' was a savour. But its the rest of the Menu or Cuisines that are to your dismay.Neither the Chinese or the Punjabi..suits Ur belly nor Ur pocket.

Meal For Two:: 1000/- (Drinks also)
